In October 1979 Kevin went to Loughborough University to study Data Processing, including a year as an Industrial Trainee working for IBM in Portsmouth. While in Portsmouth, Kevin first met Maryanne.

In 1983 Kevin returned to Portsmouth as a graduate at IBM. The following year he bought his first house at 80 Merton Avenue Portchester. By 1987 Maryanne had moved to Northampton and was living on the canal boat 'Patience'. In that year, Kevin transferred to IBM Warwick and in August 1987 Kevin and Maryanne moved to 3 Ash Grove in Southam, Warwickshire..

Kevin and Maryanne had two children:

• Peter Cook , born 4th November 1988 at Cay Maternity Unit of Leamington Hospital (now demolished).

In 1989 Kevin and Maryanne were married at Warwick Registry office

Peter and Jenny attended Telford Junior school:

In 1992 Kevin and family moved to 20 Helmsdale Road, Lillington in Leamington Spa. By the late 1990s all of Kevin's family had moved to Dorset (Maryanne's family were still in Hampshire), so in 1999 Kevin and family moved house to Chandlers Ford, Hampshire.
