Ernest and Gladys had two children:

• Joan Carney , born 7th May 1932 at 51, Creighton Avenue in East Ham (just down the road from the West Ham's Upton Park foodball ground).

Ben died 5th May 1987 at Whipps Cross hospital (Waltham Forest, 15, 526). Gladys died 22nd March1989 (Redbridge, 15, 1526)
