Frederick and Teresa McVicar

Teresa, unknown age
According to a oral history Edward became a sea captian and took Teresa away to sea. This is very unlikely as Edward had no maritime experience. The truth was, on 4th May 1874, both Edward and Teresa were convicted of forgery at the Old Bailey (cases 352 and 353). Edward had forged cheques and Teresa (alias Elizabeth Talbot) had cashed them. Edward received 5 years hard labour and Teresa two years imprisonment.
In 1880 Teresa was a witness to the marriage of her elder brother George. The McVicar family were living in Islington for the 1881 census.
Dennis reports that the family story was that Edward died, and indeed, when Teresa, remarried in 1890, she described herself as a widow. However, Edward McVicar was alive and well. He appears in the 1901 census living in Cuthbert Road, Walthamstow, with his wife Ellen (born 1853 in Exeter). The marriage certificate for Edward and Ellen cannot be found.
Throughout her life, Teresa seemed to change her age:
On 18th February 1890 Teresa married William McLean (known as "Dar". Dar was born about 1862 and died 26th July 1922 aged 61. The 1891 census shows Teresa living with Dar and Dar's daughter Ethel in Beaufoy Road, West Ham.
Dar McLean and his mother. Is that Teresa standing in the middle?
Teresa lived at: King Henry's Walk, Islington, and moved from Plaistow to East Ham in 1890 and lived at 31 Dale Rd Canning Town ? up to 1907
The 1901 census shows the following people in the McLean household:

Teresa McLean | 45 | Scotland |
